This day trip is designed to see a number of Tallaganda National Park tracks, presenting quite a diversity of flora and forest within easy driving distance.
We will be entering through via Hoskinstown and Forbes Creek Road. The intent is to drive around the national park, to see Butmaroo Range and Mulloon Creek, before heading south into the State Forest to see the Donoghue Hopkins ruins and water wheel at Lowden Park.
We’ll then head through some of the pine forests, with a short drive up Mt Cronin to grab a nice view before heading home via Captains Flat.
For those that wish there will be the option for a ‘debrief’ at the recently re-opened Captains Flat pub, before heading back home along the black-top.
I’ve marked this trip as medium. 4wd and moderate ground clearance will be needed on occasion.
