Tallaganda Forest to Braidwood
This is a gentle run from Spotlight Queanbeyan on forestry trails through the Tallaganda State Forest to Braidwood for afternoon tea. You will need to bring a picnic lunch with you for our lunchtime stop at Lowden Forest Park. While there will be one section requiring low range and some careful wheel placement, there is no serious off road driving.
The run through Tallaganda is well-suited to those interested in joining the Club as well as Series and other older vehicles, and we have scoped an alternative route home via Captains Flat for those who do not want to drive on the Kings Highway, though this will mean separating from the group and forgoing afternoon tea in Braidwood.
The round trip from Spotlight back to Spotlight is some 190 km.
We plan to depart Spotlight at 10 am, so a relaxed start. With an uncertain arrival time in Braidwood (maybe about 2:30 to 3 pm), we aren’t planning to make any formal afternoon tea bookings but rather leave everyone to forage for their own takeaway refreshments, maybe meeting up again in the park or making your own way home, as you prefer.
