South Australia 2020
17 August - 13 September
Come and join us for a trip to explore some of South Australia (assuming borders open)
Dates are not yet definite as we need to ensure borders are open, campsites are available, and farm stays can accommodate us.
Current plan is:
Week 1: Canberra – Dubbo – Cobar – Pardoo-Darling National Park (White Cliffs) – Mutawintji National Park – Broken Hill
Week 2: Broken Hill – Peterborough – Rawnsley Park Station – Blinman – Vulkathunha Gammon Ranges National Park – Leigh Creek – Port Augusta
Week 3: Exploring the Eyre Peninsula (east to west) – Ceduna
Week 4: Ceduna – Goog’s Track – Kingoonya – Lake Gairdner National Park – Gammon Ranges – Port Augusta – head home
While locations such as Port Augusta are listed we will most likely not stay there but stop briefly during the day to buy groceries etc.
We won’t be driving every day, and where we have ‘rest’ days there will be options for walks, drives, or just lazing in camp.
Notes regarding Goog’s Track:
Sand Flags recommended. (The club has sand flags so you do not need to purchase your own for this trip)
Trailers are not recommended. After leaving the Eyre Peninsula those with trailers can leave them at the Wudinna caravan park. Wudinna is quite close to where we exit the Gammon Ranges so collecting them after week 4 will be easy.
As the trip is limited to 6 vehicles we will give priority to those that can commit to weeks 1-3, or weeks 1-4. If there are still spaces we will welcome those that can only join us for a shorter time.
